"babadağlılar çarşısı ve bana söyleyebildikleri" Betonart Issue 70
I wrote this article for Betonart Architectural Magazine 70. issue with an illustration of the place. Babadağlılar Bazaar is a place of memory for me from the years when the big capital had not yet entered Denizli that much. Today, when you look up from the courtyard, your head spins with the effect of eight floors overlapped with woven fabrics, towels and Buldan cloth covers on the railings. Beyond my memories; the main stunning feature of the bazaar is not the ramp that encircles the space and takes you through floors; it is its multi-colored festivity inside. What makes this bazaar really special is its convenience for “togetherness” in a little city. It is a place where not only textile companies but also people from surrounding towns can sell their own hand-made products: A place for encounters.
